Two models, one question
The question is what your company needs in Spain today: someone to fill a senior role full-time for a period, or someone senior to lead the entry with the time each stage calls for.
Interim management
An interim management mandate covers a senior role full-time for a defined period, for example until your company brings in its permanent executive. Your company chooses and hires that executive.
It fits when the subsidiary already operates and the role calls for daily presence. We explain it in interim management in Spain.
Fractional Country Manager
A Fractional Country Manager leads your market entry within an agreed mandate; your board decides. Time commitment and reporting to your board at the frequency agreed in the mandate.
It fits when Spain needs senior attention before a full-time country manager makes sense. We explain it in Fractional Country Manager in Spain.
How to choose
- Time commitment: full-time for interim; agreed for fractional.
- Horizon: a defined period to cover a role, or several months to take the entry to its first milestones.
- Starting point: a subsidiary that already operates, or an entry that is starting.
- End of the period: the role in the hands of the executive your company hires, or the entry milestones set in the mandate, with a handover plan to your permanent structure.
What to do
- Write down what Spain needs over the next six months.
- Decide whether the role calls for daily presence or an agreed time commitment.
- Define what your board expects at the end of the period.
- Agree scope, time commitment and reporting in writing.
